What is calibration?

The calibration of measuring instruments is nothing more than comparing the values indicated by a calibrated device with the readings of a control reading so that the results obtained meet the accuracy requirements imposed by the relevant measurement regulations, taking into account the acceptable measurement error.

Through calibration, we can determine whether the devices are working properly. Measuring devices can over or underestimate readings over time. With calibration, you can make sure that the device is suitable for further operation or we can calibrate it.

A document confirming calibration is a calibration certificate. Good laboratories are accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation.

Why do we need to calibrate measuring instruments?

The calibration of measuring instruments – for example, in the context of our ThermoMesh solution – is done to make sure that objects/commodities/exhibits are stored in the proper conditions.

Calibration certificates are often required during audits. It is also worth conducting them when we have doubts about the correct operation of a device.

What does calibration look like at InviNets?

The first step is to establish calibration conditions. Once established, we dismantle the equipment and suspend measurements. If necessary, we can offer replacement sensors for rental. Then we check the sensors from the technical side, replace the batteries. If necessary, we repair and clean the equipment. The next step is to send the sensors to a calibration laboratory. After the process, the laboratory sends back the equipment with calibration certificates. We review the results and calibrate the equipment if necessary. Finally, we replace the temporary sensors with rewired ones and hand over the certificates to the client.

The largest calibration at InviNets

Our largest calibration involved more than 120 sensors, installed in a 43,000 sq. ft. warehouse. To streamline the entire operation and minimize interruptions in readings, we divided the process into several stages. Temporary sensors were installed in place of the calibrated sensors, so we maintained the continuity of measurements. The project was conducted entirely remotely. Adequate preparation of instructions and plans for the placement of the temporary sensors, meticulousness and good communication with the client were essential in this process. As a result, the process was successful.
